First look at John Travolta and cast of American Crime Story in character

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

With American Horror Story returning for a high profile season in the fall alongside new series Scream Queens, Ryan Murphy's other new show is ready to debut a first look at it's high profile cast. American Crime Story is set to air on FX and will follow the anthology format that American Horror Story has been so successful with only focusing each season on a true crime story. First up is the infamous case of O.J. Simpson.

American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson features the acting talents of Sarah Paulson as Marcia Clark, Cuba Gooding Jr. as OJ Simspon, John Travolta as Robert Shapiro, David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian, Courtney B. Vance as Johnnie Cochran, and Billy Magnussen as Kato Kaelin. These first looks at the cast come courtesy of Entertainment Weekly. We have yet to see other actors in the mini-series that include Cheryl Ladd, Steven Pasquale, Connie Britton, Selma Blair, and Jordana Brewster.

Looking at these portraits brings back memories to coming home from school to find my parents and grandparents glued to CNN for developments on the court case. I also remember being glued to the TV when the verdict was reached. The OJ trial is one of the most polarizing pop culture moments of the 1990s and I am intrigued to see if the series plays like a pulpy dark comedy or takes itself seriously.

American Crime Story debuts on FX in 2016.
