First look at Professor Pyg from the Gotham episode “Hog Day Afternoon”

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

I never really got into Professor Pyg, but it has been interesting seeing him be one of the few modern crossover successes in the last five-to-ten years. In fact, he was the main antagonist in that all-CGI Batman from a few years back. The only other thing I can think of would be the Court of Owls, who actually already made their debut on GOTHAM, because of course it did.

Now, I’ll admit I’m not the biggest fan of GOTHAM – or as I like to call it – “BATMAN BABIES”. However, I have to admit, things like this goofy shit make me reconsider that position. I mean, if you’re going to be campy, go full-tilt I say! That “oink, oink” after all the Fincher-wannabe serial killer shit was so bonkers I couldn’t help but appreciate the audacity. And I don’t necessarily mean ironically.

Anyway, you can see Professor Pyg in action in the video embed above, and the plot synopsis below:

Gordon and Bullock are hot on a serial killer who has been assassinating cops and dressing his victims in the severed heads of pigs as his signature mark. Meanwhile, Sofia tries to win over Penguin, and Thompkins, Nygma and Grundy find themselves an unlikely home at Cherry’s place.

Meanwhile, “Hog Day Afternoon” (yes, that’s the title they’re going with) will premiere on FOX October 26th.
