First trailer for Richard Linklater’s Boyhood starring Ellar Coltrane

JoBloJoBlo

Have you been dying to see something, anything from Richard Linklater's twelve years in the making BOYHOOD? Well, I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is Access Hollywood has a first look at the experimental film. The bad news? The dude from Access Hollywood talks over a bunch of the trailer. It's annoying as hell, but at least we finally get to see some footage from Linklater's ambitious new film.

Synopsis:

The film tells a story of a divorced couple (Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette) trying to raise their young son (Ellar Coltrane). The story follows the boy for twelve years, from first grade at age 6 through 12th grade at age 17-18, and examines his relationship with his parents as he grows.

Richard Linklater filmed BOYHOOD intermittently over a twelve year period, starting in 2002, and the movie received great reviews (ours here) when it was shown at Sundance. I've been keeping my eye on BOYHOOD ever since I first heard about the film, and I can't wait to see this fascinating project.

BOYHOOD will open in select theaters on July 11th, 2014.
