We got word of a new little Irish horror flick called OUTCAST this morning, and after sneaking a peek at the new still and new poster for the film, I gotta admit… I’m oddly intrigued!

Before I get into it, let’s take a look-see as to what OUTCAST is all about: It tells the tale of Petronella (a Scottish/Romany girl) and Fergal (her mysterious Irish traveler boyfriend). As their doomed relationship plays out, a Beast stalks the estate, killing locals, working its way towards our protagonists. Meanwhile Cathal and Liam, two mysterious travelers from Ireland use ritual and magic on a blood hunt. Mary, Fergal’s mother performs ritual and magic of her own. As Cathal comes face to face with Mary in a vicious finale we know one thing: the Beast must die.

Beasts? Rituals? Magic? Blood hunts? The list goes on and on, adding to the film’s potential to kick all sorts of horror-loving ass, and leading me to believe Bankside Films (COFFIN ROCK) may have another hit on their hands!

The new still is nothing to shake a stick at, (though I’m getting a ’70s Hammer Films vibe) and the poster practically has STD stamped on its forehead, but that synopsis sounds like fun, no? You bet your ass it does!

Directed by Colm McCarthy and starring James Cosmo, James Nesbitt, and Karen Gillan, the Irish film is still awaiting its official release date. While we wait alongside it, enjoy the new poster and image, and stick around for more OUTCAST as we hear it!
