Here’s your first good look at the M. Night Shyamalan-produced Fox series “Wayward Pines” which rocks an impressive cast that includes Matt Dillon, Melissa Leo, Terrence Howard, Carla Gugino, Shannyn Sossamon, Toby Jones, Reed Diamond and Juliette Lewis.

Most people will call this “M. Night Shyamalan’s “Twin Peaks” – and they may be right – but it reminds me more of the “Arcadia” episode of “The X-Files”, when Mulder and Scully had to pose as a married couple in order to investigate a community with some very strict rules… and consequences. Still, color me intrigued.

The synopsis:

Ethan Burke (Dillon), a Secret Service agent who arrives in the bucolic town of Wayward Pines, Id., is on a mission to find two missing federal agents. But instead of answers, Ethan’s investigation only turns up more questions. Each step closer to the truth takes Ethan further from the life he knew, from the husband and father he was, until he must face the terrifying reality that he may never get out of Wayward Pines alive.

“Wayward Pines” premieres May 14 at 9/8c on FOX.
