After surviving eight near-death experiences, Louis Drax (Aiden Longworth) plunges off the side of a cliff on his ninth birthday. Amazingly, he survives the fall but winds up in a coma which leaves Dr. Allan Pascal (Jamie Dornan) searching for the strange circumstances behind the young boy's accident and the dark coincidences that have plagued his life. Summit Entertainment has released the first trailer for THE 9TH LIFE OF LOUIS DRAX and it certainly looks it has the potential to be an intriguing supernatural mystery.

"We're not supposed to use the word miracle, but this might call for an exception."

Based on Liz Jensen's best-selling book of the same name, THE 9TH LIFE OF LOUIS DRAX was originally set to be helmed by Anthony Minghella (THE TALENTED MR. RIPLEY) before his death, but later passed to Alexandre Aja (THE HILLS HAVE EYES). Minghella's son, Max Minghella, penned the screenplay for the film.

An official synopsis for THE 9TH LIFE OF LOUIS DRAX:

But as he’s drawn deeper and deeper into the mystery of Louis’ seeming ability to cheat death, the doctor finds himself falling for Louis’ mother, Natalie [Sarah Gadon].
