For Queen & Country

JoBloJoBlo

After years kicking around development hell, Greg Rucka’s Eisner Award winning comic QUEEN & COUNTRY is back on track at Fox. Or at least getting a new script.

Up-and-comer Ryan Condal landed the assignment to adapt the Oni Press espionage series (from the creator of the impending WHITEOUT), which followed the realistic missions of British Special Operations “Minder” Tara Chace.

The movie is now being described as “a female version of THE BOURNE IDENTITY”, even though the book had little to do with amnesia or secret assassination programs. Nicole Kidman was once attached to the project.

Condal (who hit the “Black List” of hot screenwriters last year for his King Arthur script GALAHAD) also recently got the job of adapting Warren Ellis’ sci-fi comic series OCEAN.
