This October, fans of the 1982 sci-fi noir classic BLADE RUNNER will be getting something that many of them have been waiting thirty-five years for: a sequel. BLADE RUNNER 2049 is scheduled to come out on October 6, 2017. That's the day when audiences will get their first chance to see director Denis Villeneuve's continuation of the story Ridley Scott began in '82.

Five months out from film's release, a pair of posters have been unveiled, each focusing on one of the film's two leading men; Harrison Ford, back as his BLADE RUNNER character Rick Deckard, and Ryan Gosling as Officer K. Both of these character posters can be seen below.

Scott remains on board as producer of the sequel and crafted the film's story with original BLADE RUNNER co-writer Hampton Fancher. Fancher went on to write the screenplay with Michael Green, who also worked on the script of Scott's upcoming PROMETHEUS sequel / ALIEN prequel ALIEN: COVENANT.

BLADE RUNNER 2049's synopsis:

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

Gosling and Ford are joined in the cast by Ana de Armas, Jared Leto, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Dave Bautista, David Dastmalchian, Lennie James, Sylvia Hoeks, Carla Juri, Hiam Abbass, Barkhad Abdi, and Edward James Olmos.
