People are buzzing about the upcoming release of KONG: SKULL ISLAND, but another simian foe has risen from the depths: A*P*E. The Z-movie South-Korean/American co-production was released in 1976 and it's now getting a brand spanking new 3D Blu-Ray re-release from Kino Lorber on February 28, 2017, just two weeks before KONG hit theaters.
This can't be a coincidence, since the film was originally slapped together in the 70's to beat Dino De Laurentiis' KING KONG remake to theaters, so A*P*E is continuing a grand tradition of competing with massive blockbusters that could knock it down in a heartbeat. You gotta love that scrappy attitude.
Here are the bonus features that are coming with the release:
*NEW 2K Restoration (2D and 3D; 3D version requires 3D TV)
*Audio Commentary by Horror Cinema Historian Chris Alexander
*Original Theatrical Trailer
*Optional SDH subtitles
