One flick I can’t really get excited for is Shawn Levy’s sci-fi robot fighting flick REAL STEEL. Don’t get me wrong, Hugh Jackman is the man and Evangeline Lilly is without a doubt the most beautiful woman I’ve ever laid my eyes on… but come on… fighting robots?

Alas some of you out there might actually be excited for this thing so I’m taking the opportunity today to show you guys some brand new character banners for the flick. Natch! And what characters do we get to see in these new posters? How about our robotic combatants!? Just scroll away above and below to get a look at the goods courtesy of JoBlo’s Pimpin’ Poster Palace.

A gritty, white-knuckle, action ride set in the near-future where the sport of boxing has gone high-tech, “Real Steel” stars Hugh Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo) to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.

Along with Jackman and Lilly the flick also stars Anthony Mackie, Kevin Durand, Dakota Goyo, Hope Davis, Phil LaMarr, Olga Fonda and Karl Yune. It’s due to hit theaters everywhere on October 7th.
