One project most genre fans seem to be looking forward to is Frank Darabont’s “The Walking Dead,” which is the adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s graphic novels heading our way courtesy of AMC. Now we last heard from the director a couple weeks ago, but how’s the casting going for “The Walking Dead?”

We know Andrew Lincoln will be starring as our hero, ‘Rick Grimes.’ We also know Jeffrey DeMunn and Jon Bernthal will be along for the ride… but what about the females? We need to get some ladies in on this! Right? Right!

Well according to Entertainment Weekly, our prayers have been answered! It seems “Prison Break” star Sarah Wayne Callies has just signed on to star in the series as ”Lori Grimes,’ the slowly-unraveling wife of the show’s hero.’

Now I haven’t really seen much of Callies (pictured) but I’m all for seeing what she can do! What says you guys? You down with Darabont casting a bunch of relative unknowns for this or were you expecting some marquee Hollywood names? Hit us with your thoughts on “The Walking Dead” below and keep it here for more on the project as we hear it!
