All I’ve got to say is, Jackie Earl Haley is the friggin’ man! First, the dude explodes back on the scene and scores an Oscar nom with LITTLE CHILDREN. Then, he absolutely blew us all away with his gut-wrenchingly inspired performance as Rorschach in WATCHMEN. Now, he’s taking on the legendary horror role of Frederick Krueger (and I bet he’s going to kick some clawed ass). I also believe that Mr. Haley is already relishing his new character from the pic that he recently posted on his Twitter page.
That’s the shot up top. At first glance, you may be thinking, what’s so hot about a picture of a cup of coffee? However, if you’d merely move your eyes a tad to the right, you will catch an ever so slight glimpse of some sharp, shiny tips! What could they be? Hmm…
Seeing this tiny taste of our new Freddy just drives me nuts (in a good way). I love the fact that the filmmakers are being so secretive about Haley’s full, pizza-faced look. I heard that he travels to and from the set with a bag over his head to make certain no spoiler shots are taken. That’s awesome! For some reason, the idea of Freddy walking around with a bag over his head seems kinda freaky. Anyways, I can’t wait to see what else this new NIGHTMARE has in store for us as well as its April 10, 2010 release date.
