Alright so it isn’t much, but today we’ve got an inkling of an update for you all regarding the FRIGHT NIGHT remake heading our way.
Buried deep within an article over at Variety about women in the industry is the little tidbit that the upcoming FRIGHT NIGHT remake will take place in Las Vegas! That’s right folks, Sin City! What does this mean for the remake? I have no idea but my gut is telling me it isn’t good…
FRIGHT NIGHT comes from director Craig Gillespie and scribe Marti Noxon, who is mentioned in the article. Noxon even divulges a bit on what type of ‘Jeffrey Dandrige’ we might expect:
“He’s a much more ‘Jaws’-like vampire in the Amblin tradition.”
Alright… in an industry filled with sparkling vampires it’s at least nice to see Noxon is going with a badass vampire instead. Then again wasn’t the original ‘Dandrige’ pretty badass? Anyhow things aren’t looking to great for this remake but who knows… maybe it’ll turn out to actually be something? Possible I suppose… but doubtful.
Word around the net also has the ‘Peter Vincent’ character as a Vegas showman type of character, though no official word or casting has been announced. FRIGHT NIGHT stars Anton Yelchin, Toni Collette and Colin Farrell as ‘Jeffrey Dandrige.’ That shite is gearing up to start shooting next month so be sure to keep it here for more as we hear it!
