For all of you in the North Hollywood area, you might like to go and check out the AFM Loews Hotel press room on Nov. 3rd for a press conference held by the newly developed production company The Fright Film Factory. Helmed by Kenneth J. Hall, who gave us the PUPPET MASTER series, as well as worked on JACK FROST and TALES FROM THE HOOD (amongst others), and Tony Kandah, president of the production company Hollywood Wizard, TFFF is launching their new production house with the release of their first film, THE HALFWAY HOUSE, starring Mary Wornov (DEATH RACE 2000) and Janet Tracy Keijser (HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL). Check out the official website HERE if you’re into girl on girl action, 80’s shasher flicks and twisted comedy!

Hall is looking to re-invent horror, and explains that “most filmmakers see a successful film and rip it off until there are so many clones floating around that everyone gets sick of them. Being a lifelong fan of the genre, I will resurrect classic horror conventions and introduce them to a whole new audience. Younger movie-goers had never seen the martial arts movies that inspired Quentin Tarantino’s KILL BILL 1 & 2, but they responded to those elements because they were presented in a fresh new way. This is what I want to do with horror/exploitation!”

Sounds driven enough, and with PREGGERS, IF THESE WALLS COULD SCREAM, and SPIDER PEOPLE slated for projects in the works, The Fright Film Factory could definitely prove to have a strong presence in the horror film industry.
