Full Moon’s new flick

Back in the day (like, yesterday) I was a Full Moon junkie. I grew up on PUPPET MASTER and DEMONIC TOYS, and all the rest of the bizaro titles in their cannon. Since the 90s though, they’re not as prolific as they once were. Perhaps since straight-to-DVD has become SO big, there’s no appreciating a good movie about the Gingerdead Man anymore. Now it’s all about giant snakes and spiders. Bah!

But Charles Band and co. are still toiling away, and there’s a new trailer out for us to appreciate. The flick is called DEAD MAN’S HAND: CASINO OF THE DAMNED. No cackling dolls in this one, this time it’s the disgruntled ghosts of casino employees. Horror vets Sid Haig and Michael Berryman are the lead villains, and it looks like they will be provided with many opportunities to make “you lost your hand” and “looks like the casino cut him off” type puns.

I’ve got to admit there are a few visuals scattered within that aren’t too shabby, specifically a nifty ghost-transformation. Indeed, the trailer might be better viewed with the sound off, so you can save your ears from the overbearing Mr. Trailer-Voice. The DVD comes out July 3rd, so instead of celebrating our nation’s independence with friends and family, lock yourself inside your clammy scumhole of an apartment and let Charles Band show you what freedom’s really about.
