Variety reports that Kyle Gallner (RED EYE) has been the first to hop on board Lucky McKee’s next horror flick RED, and while it may not sound like it, this flick has one awesome concept that I can’t wait to check out!
Adapted by Stephen Susco, the same dude behind THE GRUDGE and next month’s THE GRUDGE 2, from a novel by Jack Ketchum, RED is about a man who sets out on a murderous revenge spree against the thugs who killed his pet dog.
I don’t know why, but it sounds more like a comedy than a horror movie- but no bother, I’m diggin’ it anyway. A good ol’ pet revenge flick. Nice!
It’s not said who Gallner will be playing, and honestly, I don’t know whether he’d be a good bad guy, or a good good guy… he’d probably be good at both. When I look at this dude, all I can think of is THE FLASH, who he played on an episode of SMALLVILLE, and he was kind of a dick… so I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
No word on when RED will start filming, but I can only assume sometime this fall… so stick around for more goodies as we hear it!
