"Game of Thrones" and HUNGER GAMES beauty Natalie Dormer will star in Lava Bear Films and Phantom Four’s THE FOREST. The supernatural thriller is being directed by Jason Zada from a script rewritten by Sarah Cornwell and Nick Antosca and based on an original idea by screenwriter David S. Goyer.

THE FOREST is a supernatural thriller set in the legendary Aokigahara forest at the base of Mt. Fuji. Against this incredible backdrop, a young American woman goes in search of her twin sister, who has mysteriously disappeared. Despite everyone’s warnings to “stay on the path,” Sara enters the forest determined to discover the truth about her sister’s fate, only to be confronted by the angry and tormented souls of the dead who prey on anyone who wanders the forest.

Lava Bear Films is producing the film along with Goyer under his Phantom Four banner. Focus Features acquired North American distribution rights to the film earlier this year and plans to release the film on January 8, 2016.
