Rogue Pictures sent us a new photo of Sarah Michelle Gellar in THE RETURN today, and while any picture of Gellar on her knees with her ass in the air is awesome… the details on this flick are not.

THE RETURN is about Joanna Mills, a tough young Midwesterner determined to learn the truth behind the increasingly terrifying supernatural visions that have been haunting her. Joanna has made a successful career for herself, as sales representative for a trucking company. But her private life has been difficult; estranged from her father, stalked by an obsessed ex-boyfriend, and with few friends, Joanna fears that she is losing control. She sees and feels the brutal murder of a young woman she’s never met, at the hands of a heartless killer – a man who appears to be making Joanna his next target. Determined to fight back, Joanna is guided by her nightmares to the murdered woman’s hometown. Once there, she will discover that some secrets can’t be buried; some spirits never die; and that the murder she is trying to solve may be her own.

The story sounds pretty cool, and the picture is sweet, and I was feeling all butterflies-in-the-stomach like, until I got to the part where it’s rated PG-13, with a whopping running time of 85 minutes. Yes. 85 minutes! A PG-13 horror flick that’s shy of an hour and a half! It’s a crime and a shame, all wrapped into one.

So will it get better? We’ve been promised a trailer soon, so I suppose we’ll have to hold our breathes until then, as it could look super-awesome and blow us all away. Of course, BOOGEYMAN looked awesome, and it turned out to be a steaming pile dog doo, so go figure. THE RETURN hits theaters November 17th.
