Genre bending thriller VIViD scores new trailer, stills & synopsis

It has been a little over a year since we last reported on Brandon Slagle’s action/sci-fi/horror hybrid VIViD (see our last article featuring a stunning sizzle reel for the flick HERE), but today we have a peek at a new trailer, a longer synopsis and a handful of stills from this cross-genre mindbender.

A serial killer known only as “The Man of Sin” is growing tired of the simple murders he commits and looking to up the sexual thrill he gets from the act. He decides the way to receive the ultimate high is to experience death for himself… through the eyes of his victims.

Using a newly developed, experimental drug called ‘Wonderland’, that allows you to access the minds of others in a dream state, he stalks his new prey.

Unbeknownst to Ethan, a lonely and insecure office employee who dreams of riches and success, Rosa, a recovering cocaine addict struggling to stay off the streets and Alice, a new mother and aspiring actress who is tormented by Hollywood starlets that she doesn’t feel she compares to, the man of sin is lurking.

When things start to reveal themselves as not what they seem, Ethan and Rosa find themselves stuck in a dream like state they can’t escape from and must fight to wake from a world that is vividly real.

The Man of Sin has them. He is witnessing and violating their every thought with the intention to see life through their eyes… as well as death…

VIViD has just scored representation through Phoenix Group, who brought us such genre films as the Chiller TV-aired HUMANS VS. ZOMBIES, BOGGY CREEK and PATIENT ZERO, and will be presented at the NATPE film market in Florida later this month.

The film stars Keith Kraft (Beowulf), Devanny Pinn (Nude Nuns With Big Guns, The Penny Dreadful Picture Show), Rachel Grubb (American Girls, Terror Overload), Deneen Melody (The Playboy Club, Rose White), former WWF Wrestler Al Snow (Dorothy and the Witches of Oz, Money Shot), Barry Ratcliffe (Bicentennial Man, Nash Bridges), Tawny Amber Young (The Guilt Trip, Rock of Love with Bret Michaels), and Bill Oberst, Jr. (Take This Lollipop, Abraham Lincoln Vs. Zombies).

The film was directed by Brandon Slagle, whose recent entries into the genre include the recently released AREA 51: CONFIDENTIAL (peep the trailer HERE) and the award-winning festival hit THE BLACK DAHLIA HAUNTING, from a script written by Slagle and Jimmy ScreamerClauz (WHERE THE DEAD GO TO DIE).
