Gerard Butler, Morena Baccarin & Ric Roman Waugh talk Greenland (Interview)

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

A few months back, I had the opportunity to see Greenland before it was initially scheduled for release. Well, 2020 had other plans. The modern-day disaster flick directed by Ric Roman Waugh certainly offers up the big intense action sequences, but it also features one hell of a charismatic couple with its stars Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin. As well, it offers up a terrific performance from co-star Scott Glenn. Now that the film is finally getting a streaming release on Amazon Prime, it may be an enjoyable way to finish off the new year with this action flick with a heart.

With my first viewing, I had the opportunity to join Gerard, Morena, and Ric on Zoom to discuss the new feature. For Mr. Butler and Ms. Baccarin, the two actors opened up about working together and creating a realistic couple facing impossible odds. This is especially true for Morena who has to deal with some intensely emotional moments. As for Ric, the filmmaker opened up about releasing this film in 2020, and both he and Gerard spoke about the amazing connection the two have developed working on so many features together. If you are in the mood for an unusually personal disaster story, make sure you check out Greenland opening this Friday at home, and in select theatres.
