Gerard Butler takes action in this teaser trailer for London Has Fallen

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

You gotta hand it to a trailer that delivers exactly what the title states. Antoine Fuqua's OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN ended up being a serviceable action picture, and it looks like its successor is upping the stakes. The story finds Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) in London for the Prime Minister's funeral when he discovers a plot to assassinate all the attending world leaders. Totally unfortunate . . . for anyone on the receiving end of Butler's justice. Enter a very concerned-looking Morgan Freeman and some London explosions and you've got yourself an adequate teaser for LONDON HAS FALLEN!

Is anyone over the childhood songs being played off-key for film trailers? I digress, but the teaser for this looks like . . . well, a movie. I'm happy to see Butler kicking some ass, again. Not that he couldn't do whatever he wanted, but I'm ready to move past him playing romantic leads and leprechauns. God, did that really happen?

LONDON HAS FALLEN will hit theaters on January 22, 2016.
