Dwayne Johnson‘s latest Twitpic from the set of HERCULES: THE THRACIAN WARS once again gives us only a glimpse of the hulking beast known as The Rock, looking every bet as imposing as you’d expect a Greek God to be. Standing with the actor is veteran cinematographer Dante Spinotti (HEAT) as the two prepare to film a scene inside an “ancient Greece” looking set. Johnson’s costume in this particular scene looks pretty damn minimal, almost like a leather leotard with a skirt. Although, we know that there will be some form of armor in the film, as teased by Johnson in previous posts.

Take a gander:

There’s an impressive cast in Ratner’s comic-book adapted opus, including Ian McShane, John Hurt, Joseph Fiennes, Rufus Sewell, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Rebecca Ferguson, and Irina Shayk, which will hopefully lend their skills to a film that will be a kick ass, brutal and bloody affair, but I’m guessing it will likely be a potentially fun, PG-13-rated romp. Ah, what I wouldn’t give for a Verhoeven-style bloody sword pic. One can hope, but at least we can count on Johnson to bring his usual intense charm and physicality, no matter how tame or how vicious the content may be.

HERCULES: THE THRACIAN WARS hits theaters on July 25, 2014.
