Angelina Jolie's directorial debut, IN THE LAND OF BLOOD AND HONEY, was not met with many kind words. That's not stopping her from stepping up to the plate with her sophomore effort, UNBROKEN, which tells the real-life story of Olympian-turned-POW, Louis Zamperini.

Crafting a film on a real hero is a hard task as it becomes all-too-easy to glamorize certain aspects of their life. The trailer screaming "Oscar bait" certainly doesn't help, but I can't really hold Jolie accountable for the marketing department. Given that Jolie sought out re-writes from the Coen brothers actually puts my mind at ease. I'm curious to see how tihs one will play out.
UNBROKEN will go for the gold on December 25, 2014.
