Adam Gierasch, co-writer of MARKED, which is scheduled to be Tobe Hooper’s first feature under Moonstone Entertainment’s TH Nightmare series, gave Fangoria some new details of the upcoming project:
“It’s a supernatural film noir about an alcoholic cop investigating a series of brutal murders, each victim marked with a distinctive tattoo. I truly believe it’s the scariest thing we’ve written, with a really nasty demon in it, but it’s also a really hard-boiled detective story, which we had always wanted to write. It’s set in Los Angeles’ Little Tokyo, but we didn’t write it thinking of Asian horror films; it’s inspired by [mystery novelists] James Ellroy and Raymond Chandler.”
Gierasch also gave this info about he and partner Jace Anderson’s next script:
“It’s untitled right now, but basically it’s DELIVERANCE with zombies. It’s about a group of people on a river-rafting trip which is interrupted by long-dead mercury miners, who come back to life, and gory hijinx ensue. It’s a massive movie with nonstop action, and I promise it has some zombie stuff that no one has seen or imagined before. It’s got a lot of new twists on the undead mythology.”
Sounds A-OK to me. Now squeal like a piggy!
