A MONSTER CALLS follows 12-year-old Conor (Lewis MacDougall), dealing with his mother’s (Felicity Jones) illness, a less-than-sympathetic grandmother (Sigourney Weaver), and bullying classmates. Conor finds a most unlikely ally when a Monster appears at his bedroom window. Ancient, wild, and relentless, the Monster (Liam Neeson) guides Conor on a journey of courage, faith, and truth. By all accounts, A MONSTER CALLS looks to be one of J.A. Bayona's (THE IMPOSSIBLE, THE ORPHANAGE) most emotional stories yet. Now that he's been announced as the director of JURASSIC WORLD 2, I have a feeling all eyes will be on this film once it's released. If our review from TIFF is any indication (you can read it HERE), A MONSTER CALLS has all the makings of an award-winning film, and one that should satisfy any audience willing to take the journey.
