Go big or go home, Junkie XL uses biggest bass drum for Godzilla vs. Kong!

In a recent interview with Forbes – ostensibly about his work on the upcoming Zack Snyder JUSTICE LEAGUE film for HBO Max – composer Junkie XL mentioned that the score for another film he's working on, GODZILLA VS. KONG, will use the world's largest bass drum ever. Which makes sense, I suppose, considering these are some of the biggest monsters ever as well. Here's the excerpt from the interview:

“On Godzilla vs Kong, I said, ‘I think I need the biggest bass drum on the planet for this score. I know the guy who can build it. What do you think?’…I’m such a Godzilla freak. I have all the Japanese versions of the movies. At a certain point, just for sh-ts and giggles, I wrote something for Godzilla. About two years ago, I met the director because he showed interest in me as a composer. I asked him, ‘Do you know I’m the biggest Godzilla fan on the planet, and, years ago, I wrote some stuff.’ He was like, ‘You’re kidding me?’ So we started communicating, I tweaked what I did, played it for him, and he was totally in love.

Meanwhile, GODZILLA VS. KONG is scheduled to smash into theaters May 21st, 2021…but we'll keep you updated if there are any delays. Here's the official synopsis:

In a time when monsters walk the Earth, humanity’s fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans’ origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever.

So what do you guys think? Looking forward to the brawl? Either way, sound off below!
