Godzilla vs. Kong is the latest big-budget Warner Bros movie to get a hybrid HBO Max/theatrical release, and today's the day this highly anticipated monster mash-up finally drops. Our own JimmyO really enjoyed the film, giving it an 8/10, calling it "a battle that you're likely not going to want to miss." That's pretty much right in line with how critics have reacted to it overall, with it scoring a very decent 80% on Rotten Tomatoes.
I got to see it myself the other day and overall, I thought it was a total blast. Is it amazing? I woulnd't go that far, and in fact I actually kind of preferred Kong: Skull Island and Godzilla: King of the Monsters, but director Adam Wingard put together a fun, 2-hour thrill ride I'm sure monster-verse fans will eat up.
