Typically hearing a pic described as being in the light horror genre would basically turn my stomach, and certainly my interest in it. But I have to say that CREATURE FEATURE, recently purchased by Gold Circle Films sounds like it has definite promise.
Created by scribes Greg Erb and Jason Oremland, the pic’s plot is as follows:
Kevin Ackerman [is] a 13-year-old budding Wes Craven. Together with his crew of small-town friends, he has made dozens of low-budget horror films featuring his monster props. But after he finds and uses a mysterious old camera, the monsters spring to life.
I can’t exactly tell you why, but I love the fact that the kid is described as a budding Wes Craven. Plus the story reminds me of summers spent trying to make the next great epic with friends in my backyard. Good times, good memories.
