Goosebumps coming

Variety is reporting that Neil Moritz, producer of this spring’s shitty surprise hit PROM NIGHT, is gearing up to producer some more horror for the mass teen audiences: the big screen adaptation of R.L. Stine’s GOOSEBUMPS for Columbia Pictures.

I personally never got into any of the GOOSEBUMPS books, mostly because I skipped that reading level of horror and went straight to Stephen King and the like. That said, I did read one or two of them, and thought they were pretty entertaining and honestly, would be really easy to adapt to the big screen.

No specific storyline has been picked for the film adaptation, only that Moritz is looking for a writer to come on board and write the damn thing. If I remember right, there was a short-lived TV series of GOOSEBUMPS back in the mid-90s, though I don’t recall it being all that popular. Maybe it’s time for the big screen treatment… hey, at least it’s not a remake!

Stick around for more on GOOSEBUMPS as we hear it!
