Gory trailer for Clownado forecasts showers of blood

Todd Sheets Clownado

A few months ago, we shared the news that filmmaker Todd Sheets was about to embark on making a movie titled CLOWNADO – which isn't as campy and ridiculous as the SHARKNADO-esque title may lead you to believe. Sheets was actually aiming to create something that would be like "THE EVIL DEAD, DEAD ALIVE, BAD TASTE and THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE if Lucio Fulci was directing, all mixed in a swirling storm of insanity!"

A horror film noir that promises to be a "thrill ride into the depths of depravity and gore", CLOWNADO is about

crazed killer clowns on a rampage from Hell… out for revenge and only BLOOD can quench their savage desire for destruction.

The Lucio Fulci inspiration comes through in the trailer that was recently released online, as it focuses on the film's gore, which does look like it could have come straight out of a Fulci film. The special effects on display in the trailer embedded below were provided by Joe Castro, and he did a hell of a job.

CLOWNADO stars scream queen Linnea Quigley and drive-in icon Jeanne Silver, along with Rachel Lagen, Eileen Dietz, Joel D. Wynkoop, Cayt Feinics, Millie Milan, Bobby Westrick, Dilynn Fawn Harvey, Ana Rojas-Plumberg, Eric "Danger" Dionne, David McMahon, Julie Anne Prescott, Jack McCord, and Antwoine Steele.

We'll keep you updated on CLOWNADO as it continues to make its way toward release. In the meantime, check out this gore:
