To say AMC scored paydirt with “The Walking Dead” would be an understatement. The hit zombie drama seems to be breaking records every week. So the only logical thing for AMC to do is to look for more hit shows that could score just as big, right? Right. That’s where the ‘bake-off’ comes in.
You see according to Deadline Hollywood AMC holds an annual pilot script showcase where six new projects are presented, which execs have dubbed the ‘bake-off.’ AMC executives then get together and look at said projects to decide which ones deserve a shot. This year we’ve got a couple genre gems in the mix with “Low Winter Sun” and “Crystal Pines.”
First up is “Low Winter Sun,” which is an adaptation from scribe Chris Mundy of the New Zealand Gothic murder mystery series. Jake Paltrow and Robbie Kinberg are the duo behind “Crystal Pines,” which is about a journalist who signs up for a cloning experiment. And that’s pretty much all we have!
