Goyer Invisible

David Goyer, the screenwriter behind the BLADE franchise as well as DARK CITY, has signed on to write the screenplay for THE INVISIBLE. The film is a remake of a Swedish offering (what’s next, Tahitian remakes?). The storyline revolves around two youths, one an actual ghost, the other a metaphorical ghost since nobody pays any attention to him. Boo-hoo, eh? That’s high school isn’t it? I’ll grant you the concept sounds like a lame retelling of MY SO CALLED LIFE, but with ghosts. However, there has been very strong buzz around the original, and Goyer is one of the best screenwriters in the biz. Add to that the early trailers for BLADE III (his first directing effort since his debut “Zig Zag”) look pretty kick ass, and I’m willing to reserve judgment. Hard to tell if this will turn out to be a true genre effort, but at least my man will be building the foundation.
