The simple act of making another GHOST RIDER movie is ludicrous considering the original is such a steaming pile of cat poo. Then again, it made a shitload of cash at the box office, so I suppose it’s a smart business move to go with a part 2. Even though it’s a lame idea.
Anyway,writer/director/comic-fan David S. Goyer sat down and chatted with Collider recently and talked about all kinds of stuff, including the script Columbia Pictures will be using for GHOST RIDER 2. Mainly, the script they’re going with was written some 9 years ago and would have easily been a hard R if kept the way it is. So, naturally, Columbia is trimming it down to rock a more PG-13 rating.
Blah… The only way a new GHOST RIDER movie would’ve been ok in my book is if they just went for it and made it hard R, but no.. apparently that isn’t in the cards. This follows the announcement just last week that Goyer was writing the script. What they didn’t say is that the script is already written. I guess a more accurate call would be Goyer’s editing the script.
Then again, Goyer produced a compelling PG-13 script for THE DARK KNIGHT, so maybe there’s hope for this yet.
