I can’t believe it’s been way over a year since we last wrote about the CHAINSAW MASSACRE-inspired horror called GRINDER. Back then, it was being said that Jessica Simpson’s no-talent, piece-of-trash sister, Ashlee, was going to be cast in it. But little ol’ Ashlee decided instead to get knocked up and now she’s so scary-looking, she could be the monster of her own horror movie. Anyways, after a great amount of time, GRINDER has finally clawed its way back onto our radar with a bunch of new teaser trailers on its official website. The site doesn’t give too much other than some teaser trailers and the flick’s synopsis, which reads like this:

For their Thanksgiving break, seven college students plan a weekend getaway to celebrate the holidays. When their car breaks down, the group is forced to spend the night in the small Smokey Mountain town of Chapman awaiting the necessary repairs to their car. Upon their arrival in Chapman, the stranded students learn that the town is occupied by one lone family. This family is the town’s name-sake. The town of Chapman has a deserted silence and its stench emanates from a mysterious mill.

The town is the self-proclaimed road kill capital of the world. This title is their claim to fame. The students find a place to stay in Chapman’s only motel. The stranded group begins to disappear one by one. The group begins to realize that the smell might not be the only thing rotten about the town.

Sounds a little like been-there-done-that, but still seems fun nonetheless. The first trailer seems very intent on stressing that GRINDER is indeed the next TEXAS CHAINSAW. We’ll see. It was written and directed by Richard Clark Jr. and stars Sid Haig, Bo Barrett, Nikki Griffin (below), Kris Lemche, Katie Chonacas, Whitney Able, Elisabeth Britton, Adam Hughes, Johnathan Mariande, Shane Willimon, and Sean Patrick Smith. No word yet on a precise release date.
