Grindhouse Madness

With the Rodriguez/Tarantino epic ode to the exploitation films of the 1970s steadily coming upon us, it’s no wonder there’s a bunch of new stuff out today regarding GRINDHOUSE, from the awesomeness that is the new poster, to a few new clips and even a quote or two from Tarantino about the fake trailers we’re all dying to check out.

First up, if you head over to the GRINDHOUSE OFFICIAL SITE, you can check out a batch of new images, as well as the new poster above. It seems to me all the posters so far are on the money, and this one’s no exception. Cherry Darling is looking especially awesome, as that’s a view of her Machine-Gun leg that we haven’t seen before.

If you mosey over to IESB, you can check out not one, but 7 clips from PLANET TERROR, and 4 clips from DEATH PROOF! Wow! While I’m one not to watch clips, as I want to be pleasantly surprised when watching the movie as a whole in the theater, the selection they have is looking mighty sweet. With clips titled “Where’s the Shit?” and “Hood”, you know they’re gonna be fun-times, for sure!

And finally, ComingSoon chatted with QT over the weekend, in which he had a lot to say about the fake trailers that will be spliced in-between the two feature films. Notedly, he discussed the possibility of turning the fake trailers into full length motion pictures: Our whole thing is that we were actually going to let the fans dictate that. Machete could genuinely be done grindhouse[-style]. We heard reports of that being the case early, and it doesn’t sound like that’ll be denied anytime soon. Is that enough GRINDHOUSE for you for one day? Yeah, I didn’t think so! Well, it’ll have to do for now. Could this be the greatest movie experience of the year? I sure hope so- and with all the collaboration behind it, I doubt it will disappoint. Stick around for more GRINDHOUSE updates, and prepare for an entirely different theater experience when it hits nationwide April 6th, 2007.
