A young Arthur runs the back passages of Londonium with his crew, not knowing his royal lineage until he grabs Excalibur. Instantly confronted by the sword’s influence, Arthur joins the rebellion in order to unite the people and defeat the dictator Vortigern (Jude Law), the man who murdered his parents and stole his crown to become king. Throw all of that into a Guy Ritchie blender and you have the trailer for KING ARTHUR: LEGEND OF THE SWORD!
Much like the recent SHERLOCK HOLMES movies with Robert Downey Jr., director Guy Ritchie is looking to put his own spin on this classic period story. I honestly had very little interest in this movie beforehand, but I’m diggin’ this trailer’s sense of humor and style. If the movie can maintain that same semblance of fun for its entire run-time, then count me in!
KING ARTHUR: LEGEND OF THE SWORD will open in theaters on March 24, 2017.
