The Cleansing Hour Damien LeVeck

Last year, we shared director Damien LeVeck's short film THE CLEANSING HOUR (pictured above) as a Cool Horror Video, and cool it was. Running 18 minutes and starring Heather Morris, it told the following story:

Drew and Max run a webcast that streams LIVE exorcisms that are actually elaborately staged hoaxes. But when they discover today’s actress is demon-possessed, Drew and Max are forced to reckon with their online charade –live in front of a global audience.

That short served as a proof-of-concept for a feature version of THE CLEANSING HOUR that is now scheduled to go into production in Bucharest, Romania next month.

Set to star Ryan Guzman, Kyle Gallner, and Alix Angelis, the feature film will follow

best friends Max and Drew (Guzman and Gallner) who run a popular webcast that stages exorcisms to look real. When the actress of the day (Angelis) becomes mysteriously possessed by a real demon, the friends must work against the show clock to figure out the demon’s sinister motive, while the demon exposes the trio’s dark secrets before a rapidly-growing global audience.

LeVeck will be directing from a screenplay he wrote with former JoBlo.com contributor Aaron Horwitz. LeVeck is also producing the film with Natalie LeVeck, Shirit Bradley, and Dan Clifton under the Skubalon Entertainment banner.

The short film was really good, so I'm looking forward to seeing how the story will play out over the course of a film that's roughly five times longer.
