It seems odd to me that I’m not a watcher of Showtime’s DEXTER. I should be all over a show about a gleeful serial killer, and yet the times I have given it a look, I’ve been in serious “meh” territory. Then again, it takes a helluva lot to get me hooked on a t.v. show, and this one just doesn’t tickle my pickle the way I like it.
I do, however, think Michael C. Hall is a fine actor – and I really enjoyed his work on SIX FEET UNDER, where he played the passive-aggressive David – so I’ve got nothing against the fact that he’s thriving as “Dexter.” Now, according to CHUD, he’s lined up his next gig – as the villain in the upcoming Gerard Butler vehicle GAME.
Dig this: In the future, mind-control technology has taken society by storm and an online series called “Slayers” allows humans to control other humans in a mass-scale, multiplayer game… Basically, your brain is the joystick, and real people are the characters you control… Butler will be “Kable“ the reigning champ of the game (although it’s not quite clear why HE’S the champ – wouldn’t it be whoever’s controlling him?), while Hall will be “Ken Castle,” whom CHUD describes as the bastard ”pulling the strings.”
GAME comes from the kooks who wrote CRANK, so expect lots of visceral, testosterone-fueled mayhem.
