It's taken almost ten years to get to this point, with some intriguing starts and stops along the way, but a new HALLOWEEN film is now in production, as we announced over the weekend.

Directed by David Gordon Green from a screenplay he wrote with Danny McBride, the new HALLOWEEN ignores every installment in the franchise beyond the 1978 original, and features the return of Jamie Lee Curtis to the role of heroine Laurie Strode. This time, Laurie

comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.

Original Michael Myers performer Nick Castle is also returning to his role, with an assist from stuntman James Jude Courtney. As previously announced, new additions to the franchise include Judy Greer as Laurie's daughter Karen and Andi Martichak as Karen's daughter Allyson.

With cameras now rolling, the names of several more cast members have been revealed, and they're all playing classmates of the Allyson character – which also makes them highly likely to be victims of the film's iconic slasher. These cast members are Virginia Gardner (pictured above), Miles Robbins, Dylan Arnold, and Drew Scheid.

This HALLOWEEN is being produced by Blumhouse Productions, with John Carpenter executive producing and planning to provide the score. The film is being shot in Charleston, South Carolina, and we'll keep you up-to-date on it as it makes its way through production.
