Hannah Fierman and Damian Maffei join On Location, produced by Felissa Rose

There's something fascinating about seeing videos and images of locations where some of your favorite movies have been filmed, and these places are even more fascinating when you get the chance to see them in person. I've visited the places where some of my favorites were made (like the Monroeville Mall from George A. Romero's DAWN OF THE DEAD) and hope to visit more – so I think writer/director Jeff Seemann's idea to craft a horror film around the idea of fans visiting filming locations is a great one.

Our friends over at Bloody Disgusting were informed by LRB Productions, LLC that Seemann's ON LOCATION is scheduled to go into production on March 23rd.

Produced by SLEEPAWAY CAMP's Felissa Rose, the film will star Hannah Fierman, who is best known for her roles in the horror anthology V/H/S and its spinoff SiREN, and Damian Maffei, who played the Man in the Mask in THE STRANGERS: PREY AT NIGHT and recently finished working on the WRONG TURN reboot WRONG TURN: THE FOUNDATION.

Seemann's story centers on a character named

George, who starts a business with his friends, providing guided tours to the shooting locations of the world’s most famous horror films. “Terror Trips” is thriving, until they find the one movie location where the horror is real.

Seemann had this to say about the project:

I’ve been a fan of horror films my entire life, and I’ve been visiting horror movie locations for years. This film will display the nightmare scenario that takes place when one of the locations is not ‘just a movie’."

I find it cool that Maffei is in this movie, because another filming location I have visited is the spot where the trailer park was created for THE STRANGERS: PREY AT NIGHT. I was on set for a night of filming (you can read my set visit reports HERE and HERE), but Maffei and I did not cross paths. The actors playing the strangers were off limits, as their identities were being kept secret.

We'll keep an eye on ON LOCATION as the project moves forward.
