Hans Zimmer is trying to compose themes for Aquaman and Wonder Woman

Late last year we heard that (surprise) Hans Zimmer would be scoring Zack Snyder's BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, but Zimmer announced that he would be bringing along Junkie XL for the ride. Why? Well, why not? Aside from keeping things interesting, Zimmer wouldn't have to work on Batman's theme (that's going to Mr. XL) therefore not betraying Christopher Nolan and the time he spent on his Dark Knight trilogy. Well, at some obscure awards ceremony, Hans the Zimmer spoke up about scoring BATS V SUPES and while he's not working on the new Batman theme, there are some other themes that he'd ideally like to create.

Hans Zimmer, on whether or not he's writing themes for Aquaman and Wonder Woman:

I'm trying. Put it that way. We're in early days. But yes, of course, ideally that is what you want to do.  The studio is going to hedge it's bet if I ruin this one!

I'm not Hans Zimmer's biggest fan, especially as far as superhero scores are concerned, but there's no denying he generally puts a great amount of passion and time into his work. It's worth noting that even if Zimmer does write fully fleshed-out themes for both Aquaman and Wonder Woman, there's no guarantee that the composers who score those respective stand-alone films will use 'em. Hell, look at the X-Men flicks. Those movies have cycled through a few different themes at this point.  Either way, it should be interesting to see what the two come up with for the highly anticipated mash-up.

BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE hits theaters on March 25, 2016, while WONDER WOMAN will arrive on June 23, 2017 and AQUAMAN will be released on July 27, 2018.

Danny Elfman already perfected that shit, so if you want to bring that back Junkie XL . . . I wouldn't say a word.
