While speaking with Collider, producer David Heyman gave an update on David Yates‘ FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM adaptation. Heyman says the plan is start filming late this summer, and HARRY POTTER production designer Stuart Craig will return to design FANTASTIC BEASTS.

David Heyman goes on to say they haven’t had any serious conversations about casting for the HARRY POTTER spin-off yet (“Early, early, early days. Really early days. I mean we’re at the very beginning.”) and although two sequels have already been announced, right now their focus is on the first movie.

We’re making just one film, but I believe there’s been talk about it being three. But we’re just talking about it as one.

I’m sure Potter fans are very happy David Yates, J.K. Rowling, David Heyman and Stuart Craig are all involved with the project, and it’ll be interesting to see what Warner Bros. does with FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM, especially with the studio planning on doing a trilogy.

FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM is scheduled to open on November 18, 2016.
