Back in April we got word that writer/director Brad Anderson signed on to do a new project called VANISHING ON SEVENTH STREET (check out the original post HERE). Today, news is rolling out of The Hollywood Reporter that Hayden Christensen has signed on to star in the film.
But the fun doesn’t stop with Mr. Skywalker! As reporter earlier, Thandie Newton and John Leguizamo are also in negotiations to star in the film, about a once-thriving city where shadowy forms cause residents to inexplicably disappear. Five survivors fight to stay alive while grappling with the meaning of existence.
Whoa man, that’s insane. And from the guy who gave us THE MACHINIST? F*ck yeah. Christensen is set to play a reporter, while Newton will play a Nurse and a Leguizamo will play a Subway Operator. Which makes me think that two more awesome casting news should be trickling down the line soon enough.
No word on a prospective release date, but filming does kick off this October in the city of Detroit. The concept for this films sounds like it’s gonna blow my mind, and the cast… is shaping up quite nicely, actually. Throw in the talents of Anderson, and we have one flick that will likely rock our socks off.
