Jason Voorhees is expanding his reign of terror! The legendary Friday the 13th slasher has officially been announced as the latest horror icon to join Hellbreak, the upcoming horror trading card game from Spin Master, Ghost Galaxy, and Universal Products & Experiences.
The addition brings one of horror’s most popular villains into the game’s growing roster of monsters, allowing players to unleash Jason in strategic head-to-head battles against other genre legends when Hellbreak launches later this year.

Jason Voorhees enters the world of Hellbreak
Best known as the hockey mask-wearing killer of Crystal Lake, Jason Voorhees has spent more than four decades establishing himself as one of horror’s most enduring icons. Now, through Jason Universe, he’ll make the jump into tabletop gaming for the first time in Hellbreak.
The trading card game is designed around one-on-one monster battles, bringing legendary horror characters together in a competitive experience.
According to Doug Wadleigh, President of Toys at Spin Master,
“From the start, Hellbreak was built to bring together the icons that define the genre, and it simply wouldn’t feel complete without Jason. His addition to the first set marks a major milestone for the game and for fans who have been waiting to see these legends collide.”
Horror, Inc. celebrates Jason’s newest arena
Robbie Barsamian, Executive Vice President of Horror, Inc., said the collaboration gives fans an entirely new way to experience the Friday the 13th franchise.
“Unleashing Jason to battle horror legends in fast and bloody tabletop fights is a first-of-its-kind moment for the franchise. Hellbreak lets fans choose from Friday the 13th: The Game and Jason Universe favorites to go head-to-head with opponents.”
Jason’s inclusion also represents another expansion for the recently launched Jason Universe initiative, which has been bringing the iconic slasher into new games, merchandise, and entertainment projects following years of legal uncertainty surrounding the franchise.
Hellbreak heads to Gen Con
Developed in collaboration with Ghost Galaxy, Hellbreak is a horror-themed trading card game that pits famous monsters against one another in fast-paced strategic combat.
Fans attending Gen Con, running from July 30 through August 2, will have the opportunity to preview the game and try it firsthand at booth #2727.
