Here are some rejected titles for Toy Story

JoBloJoBlo

Today on his Twitter, TOY STORY 3 director Lee Unkrich joked that the recently revealed UNTITLED PIXAR MOVIE ABOUT DINOSAURS could conceivably retain that name, since TOY STORY was originally a working title that ultimately stuck.

That prompted Unkrich to unearth some of the 200 or so rejected titles that were solicited from the entire Pixar staff in a desperate search for a suitable name for the first TOY STORY. Behold some of the possibilities:

MOVING BUDDIES

MADE IN TAIWAN

THE NEW TOY

SPURS & ROCKETS

THE COWBOY & THE SPACEMAN

TO INFINITY AND BEYOND

TOYZ IN THE HOOD

WIND-UP HEROES

EACH SOLD SEPARATELY

BRING ME THE ARM OF BUZZ LIGHTYEAR

WINGS & PULLSTRINGS

While some of them are decent enough and others presumably gags (particularly the Peckinpah reference), overall we should probably be glad that Woody and Buzz wound up in the franchise as we know it…
