Variety has put out a list of five actors who all are reportedly about to test for the Kyle Reese role in TERMINATOR: GENESIS (or TERMINATOR 5, if you prefer).

Sources tell Variety that Boyd Holbrook, Tom Cocquerel, Wilson Bethel, Sam Reid and Jai Courtney are among the actors that will test on Monday for the Reese character. None of these names are very recognizable, at least not to us, although Jai Courtney (pictured) is known for portraying John McClane’s son in that terrible DIE HARD movie; he will also soon be seen in DIVERGENT and I, FRANKENSTEIN.

As if you needed to be told, the role of Kyle Reese was played by Michael Biehn in THE TERMINATOR and by Anton Yelchin in TERMINATOR: SALVATION. Garrett Hedlund (TRON: LEGACY) and Nicholas Hoult (WARM BODIES) also evidently tested for the part in recent past.

TERMINATOR: GENESIS, due to open on July 1, 2015, is being directed by Alan Taylor and stars Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor and Jason Clarke as John Connor. Arnold Schwarzenegger will be reprising his role, one way or another, as the killer machine.
