A scooper sent us a little diddy today regarding some possible casting for HOSTEL 2- straight from the horses mouth! Not that it’s a huge surprise, and not that we’d expect anything else, but it’s good to know where the whole thing stands.
Eli Roth was talkin’ it up with folks in gearing up for HOSTEL being released on DVD tomorrow. The topic of HOSTEL 2 came up, and if Jay Hernandez would be returning to f*ck some rich a-holes up a second time around. Here’s what Roth had to say: “Yeah, Jay’s going to be in it, if I can afford him. After Hostel,
he
just shot Oliver Stone’s World Trade Center and now he’s starring in
something Kimberly Peirce is shooting. If
he’s
available and I can afford him, he’ll be in it otherwise I’m going to
have
to figure out another storyline.”
The guy’d be crazy to not return for a second go-round, and hopefully he realizes that he wouldn’t be where he is today if it wasn’t for the little horror flick that could. Not that he was Oscar worthy, or even great in the role, but he’d be missed in the sequel if he wasn’t around. I suppose we’ll have to wait and see how much of a hot-shit Hernandez becomes and if he’ll return.
And if you didn’t know, the Unrated DVD of HOSTEL hits shelves tomorrow. So what are you waiting for… go on out and get yourself a copy!
