In Holtsville, Long Island, parents brought their little ones to enjoy a nice afternoon of watching THE LAST MIMZY and instead got a facefull of hideous gore as the theater mistakenly began showing THE HILLS HAVE EYES 2. Parents and children alike literally began running and screaming out of the theater, apparently not appreciating the cannibalistic shenanigans. Their money was refunded, but how much good is $9 gonna do when you’ve got thousands of dollars in psychiatric bills – and eventually, bail money – in your future?
Hopefully, if he’s heard this story, LAST MIMZY director and New Line Cinema boss Robert Shaye will smile at the irony, considering there was a time when A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (of course directed by HILLS HAVE EYES 2 scribe Wes Craven) was the picture du jour freaking adolescents out and costing their parents sleepless nights and unspeakable stress.
