A little ways back, I first introduced you guys to a rock-climbing frightener from France called HIGH LANE. Its high-altitude re-envisioning of DELIVERANCE showed some real promise and so do the brand new pics from the flick I just stumbled upon. What do you think of that gnarly bastard up top? Pretty friggin’ freaky! I believe this flick is adding in a dash of THE DESCENT for some extra flavor. You can also get another intense look at the baddie down below. Now climb all over the plot: A group of friends on vacation decide to venture onto a trail high up in the mountains that has been closed for repairs. The climb proves more perilous than planned. Especially as they soon realize that they’re not alone. The adventure turns into a nightmare.
I’m diggin’ this roller coaster. The scary stakes are always raised when you factor in heights. HIGH LANE was written and directed by Abel Ferry (THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE ZOMBIES). It stars Fanny Valette, Raphael Lenglet, Johan Libereau, Nicolas Giraud, and Maud Wyler. I’m still waiting on a U.S. release date. I’ll let you know when something arises.
