Hills, Mutant rated R

Here are two more flicks that aren’t going to be slapped with wuss-puss PG-13 ratings: THE HILLS RUN RED and THE MUTANT CHRONICLES. We learn today that both are getting the R treatment, and for tasty reasons.

THE HILLS RUN RED, from Dark Castle Entertainment, is Restricted for “strong bloody horror violence and torture, grisly images, sexual content, nudity, language and some drug use.”

Tad Hilgenbrink, William Sadler, Alex Wyndham and the impossibly hot Sophie Monk (pictured below) star in the Dave Parker-directed film, which does not currently own a release date. The story centers on a film fanatic whose obsession with finding a complete print of an infamous slasher movie leads him and two friends into the backwoods where the film was shot. They realize too late that filming never ended — and now they must survive a nightmarish onslaught or become part of the movie forever.

In addition, the Thomas Jane-led MUTANT CHRONICLES also received an R, for “strong bloody violence and language throughout.” Hard not to dig on that. The flick comes out on APRIL 24th, courtesy of Magnolia Pictures.
